After much reflection and deliberation, I am back from my self-imposed hiatus. The domain www.kennysraspberrycloud.com is officially mine, and I'm finally writing again after feeling uninspired.
The comeback
After a year of unemployment, I finally got my first full-time job out of college which wasn’t at a restaurant or tutoring center. It is an 8-5 job with benefits and a consistent work schedule that I’m very grateful for, but have also had difficulty adjusting to. Through working this job, I realized the importance of this website, my hobbies, and taking care of myself. These things typically fall to the wayside after employment and a general sense of dread seems to always seep in. So, to combat the 8-5 depression that so many people feel around the world, I decided to revive this website and cherish my hobbies.
Revisiting "Toni, Coltor, and the Comet"
Writing a novella feels like doing a mental Iron Man. I have only ever written short-form stories and flash fiction (my first ever attempts at writing are on this website under "short stories"), so working on this project has been a true test of my endurance, patience, and skill set as a writer. Through this experience, I realized that I need a LOT of work before I can confidently call myself an author; but it’s a journey I’m willing to take.
To kick off this restart, I started researching comets, reading novels to help me build out the TCC universe, and taking creative writing classes. This 10-chapter saga will be a ride for me to write, and hopefully, a ride for all of you to read. So forgive me if I’m inconsistent at times. I’m just a girl who feels in over her head but is passionate enough to keep writing for some reason.
Why I stopped using Tik Tok
A strange incident happened the day I uploaded this video on my Tik Tok.
After spending hours working on this video, my hard work was flushed down the drain when TikTok’s AI assumed I was a minor (I'm 26, which they knew!). I received the first flag on my account, and suddenly, every video I tried to upload after that wasn’t “eligible for the for you page”.
Now, theoretically, I could have just waited for this issue to be resolved, but this pissed me off so much that I decided to delete my TikTok account and exclusively post on Youtube Shorts. Now, YouTube shorts already feels like being shadow-banned, but at least there is a glimmer of hope that maybe someday in the future, there will be some traction. So, for now, I’ll just be early to the party.
As far as other social media goes, I only have Pinterest, VSCO, a YouTube channel (all under the "social media tab"), and this website. Anything else is unrelated to me. Okay! Thanks for reading! Remember to take some deep breaths.
Update: 11/13/2024
I have a tik tok account again.
I decided to open a new account after all that YAPPING I did earlier. If I delete it again, I will let you know. Oops.
